Commercially Pure Titanium Grade 4
Commercially Pure Titanium Grade 4 from LINHUI TITANIUM delivers the highest strength among unalloyed titanium grades, with yield strength reaching 483 MPa and tensile strength of 550 MPa. Our material complies with AMS 4901 (sheet/strip/plate), AMS 4921 (bar), ASTM B265 (Gr4 sheet/plate), ASTM B338 (Gr4 heat exchanger tube), ASTM B348 (Gr4 bar), ASTM B381 (Gr4 forgings), and ASTM F67 (Gr4 surgical implant).
We also supply ASTM F467 Gr4 nuts and ASTM F468 Gr4 bolts for critical fastening applications. With controlled oxygen content up to 0.40% and iron content to 0.50%, this grade offers superior structural integrity while maintaining exceptional corrosion resistance and biocompatibility.
Key Features & Benefits
High Strength-to-Weight Ratio
You get 483 MPa yield strength at only 4.51 g/cm³ density. This allows thinner cross-sections in your designs compared to stainless steel.
Superior Biocompatibility
Our material is ASTM F67 compliant. It promotes natural bone growth and avoids allergenic elements found in alloyed titanium.
Exceptional Corrosion Resistance
The stable oxide film protects your components in acidic, saline, and chlorine environments. You face minimal maintenance costs over decades of service.
Cold Formability Maintained
Despite high strength, our Commercially Pure Titanium Grade 4 retains 15% elongation. You can perform cold heading and forming operations with proper tooling.

Manufacturing Process
Controlled Rolling Technology
We maintain thickness tolerance within ±0.05mm through precision cold rolling. This gives you stable forming performance across every batch.
Heat Treatment Control
Our stress-relief annealing eliminates residual stress. You avoid dimensional distortion during your machining operations.
Alpha Case Prevention
We strictly control furnace atmosphere during processing. Your material arrives free from oxygen-enriched brittle surface layers that cause fatigue failure.
Quality Inspection
Interstitial Element Analysis
We use Inert Gas Fusion testing to verify oxygen content between 0.30%–0.40%. This ensures you receive the specified mechanical properties.
Microstructure Examination
Our metallographic evaluation at 200x magnification confirms uniform alpha-phase grain structure. Medical-grade material undergoes additional ASTM E3 inspection.
100% Tensile Testing
Every production lot undergoes ASTM E8 testing. You receive material with consistent yield and tensile strength for predictable machinability.
Ultrasonic Testing
We perform AMS 2631 Class A ultrasonic inspection on bar and billet stock. This eliminates internal voids or inclusions before the material reaches you.
Applications Of Commercially Pure Titanium Grade 4
Medical & Dental Implants
You can rely on our Commercially Pure Titanium Grade 4 for dental implants, abutments, and orthopedic bone screws. The material promotes osseointegration while remaining completely inert to bodily fluids.
Aerospace Airframe Components
Our material serves in airframe skins, bulkheads, and hydraulic tubing. You get reliable performance where temperature exceeds aluminum limits and high strength is required.
Chemical Processing Equipment
We supply tube sheets and flange faces for heat exchangers. Your components withstand high mechanical stress and gasket surface pressures in hot chloride solutions.

FAQ
Q: Can I weld this material like stainless steel?
A: No. You must use strict argon or helium shielding on both the weld pool and cooling zone. Oxygen exposure causes immediate embrittlement.
Q: Why choose this over Ti-6Al-4V for implants?
A: Our Commercially Pure Titanium Grade 4 avoids aluminum and vanadium, which have potential toxicity concerns. You get high strength with pure biocompatibility.
Q: How does machinability compare to Grade 2?
A: You'll need slower speeds and higher feed rates due to increased strength. Use copious coolant to prevent work hardening and tool seizure.
Q: Is this material magnetic?
A: No. Your medical implants remain MRI-safe for patient scanning procedures.
Q: What drives the price difference from Grade 2?
A: Precise oxygen and iron control requires more demanding production processes. Smaller production volumes also contribute to the premium.
