Commercially Pure Titanium Grade 12 Rod
LINHUI TITANIUM delivers factory-direct Commercially Pure Titanium Grade 12 rod (UNS R53401 / Ti-0.8Ni-0.3Mo) engineered for superior corrosion resistance in reducing acid environments. Our Grade 12 rods exceed ASTM B348 standards with controlled interstitial content (O ≤0.25%, Fe ≤0.30%) and precise dimensional tolerance within ±0.05mm. With 200+ tons stock inventory and ISO 9001:2015 certification, we supply pharmaceutical reactors, heat exchangers, and chemical processing equipment to 60+ countries. Our categories span Titanium Bar & Wire, Titanium Flanges, Titanium Pipe & Tube, Titanium Pipe Fittings, and Titanium Plate & Sheet—all backed by EN 10204 3.1 full traceability and third-party SGS inspection.
Key Features & Benefits
Enhanced Corrosion Performance
Grade 12 produces passive film stability in hot chloride solutions and diluted sulfuric acid by combining 0.8% nickel and 0.3% molybdenum. In reducing situations where ordinary CP titanium fails, this alloy performs better than Grade 2.
Formability & Weldability
You gain excellent cold-forming characteristics for complex tube bending and flanging operations. The material maintains base metal corrosion resistance after welding without filler metal requirements.
Lightweight Structural Advantage
At 4.51 g/cm³ density, our rods deliver 60% weight savings versus stainless steel while maintaining 345 MPa minimum yield strength for structural integrity in aggressive media.

Manufacturing Process
VAR, or vacuum arc remelting
To prevent macro-segregation and guarantee uniform Ni-Mo distribution, we employ triple-melt VAR technology. During ingot solidification, this procedure lowers the possibility of hydrogen pickup.
Rolling and Hot Forging
To improve grain structure, billets are subjected to multi-pass radial forging at 850–950°C. Rod cross-sections with consistent mechanical characteristics are produced using controlled rolling schedules.
Treatment of Solutions
To relieve stress, rods are annealed at 705°C (1300°F). By avoiding brittle beta-phase development, this treatment maximizes alpha-phase microstructure.
Accurate Machining
The diameter tolerance achieved by CNC centerless grinding is ±0.05mm. For smooth installation in tube bundles, the final straightness tolerance is 1 mm per meter.
Quality Inspection
Completely NDT Testing
In accordance with ASTM E213 Class A requirements, every commercially pure titanium Grade 12 rod is subjected to ultrasonic testing. Surface flaws deeper than 0.2 mm are found via eddy current inspection.
Verification of Tensile and Hardness
Yield Strength ≥345 MPa and Elongation ≥20% are confirmed by batch-specific tests. For constant machinability, Rockwell B hardness is kept between 70 and 85 HRB.
Traceability of Chemicals
Ni-Mo content and interstitial levels are confirmed by Inert Gas Fusion (IGF) analysis and Optical Emission Spectrometry (OES). EN 10204 3.2 Mill Test Certificates with heat number traceability are given to you.

FAQ
Q: What's the difference between Grade 12 and Grade 2?
A: Grade 12 contains Ni-Mo additions providing 20–30% better corrosion resistance in hot chloride brines and dilute H₂SO₄. Use it when Grade 2 experiences pitting or crevice corrosion.
Q: Can you provide FDA-compliant material?
A:Yes. Our Grade 12 meets FDA 21 CFR 177.2460 for food contact applications. We supply pharmaceutical-grade material with additional purity documentation.
Q: What's your minimum order quantity?
A:Stock diameters (10–200mm) start from 100 kg. Custom sizes require 500 kg minimum due to forging setup costs.
Q: Do you offer cut-to-length service?
A:Absolutely. We provide precision sawing with +5/-0mm tolerance and deburred ends ready for welding or machining.
Q: How do I verify material authenticity?
A:Each rod is laser-engraved with heat number. You can request Positive Material Identification (PMI) testing via handheld XRF before shipment.
