LINHUI TITANIUM offers standard 10-meter (32.8-foot) lengths of precisely manufactured GR1 titanium wire with diameters as thin as 0.15mm (0.006" / AWG 34). Through regulated cold rolling technology, our wire achieves dimensional tolerance of ±0.01mm, guaranteeing constant formability for complex applications. This commercially pure titanium wire has an oxygen concentration of less than 0.18% and an iron level of less than 0.20%. Its excellent ductility—elongation usually surpasses 30%—eliminates springback problems during deep drawing or weaving processes. Since 2000, we have been a direct mill supplier, and we keep over 200 tons of stock on hand for quick shipping.
Strict chemical purity control and 100% NDT inspection are combined in our manufacturing process. To ensure there are no internal flaws, every spool is subjected to ultrasonic testing in accordance with AMS 2631 standards.
Key Features & Benefits
Superior Formability
The lowest yield strength among titanium grades (138 MPa minimum) enables maximum deformation without cracking. You can execute tight-radius bends and complex weaving patterns without intermediate annealing.
Corrosion Immunity
Stable TiO₂ oxide film resists seawater, wet chlorine, and organic acids. Ideal for marine hardware and chemical processing environments where stainless steel fails.
Lightweight Strength
Density of 4.51 g/cm³—45% lighter than steel—while maintaining higher strength-to-weight ratio than 316 stainless steel.

Manufacturing Process
Ingot Preparation
Vacuum arc remelting (VAR) eliminates impurities. Double-melt cycles ensure homogeneous chemistry throughout the billet.
Hot Forging & Extrusion
Billets undergo multi-pass reduction at controlled temperatures. This refines grain structure to ASTM E112 Grade 7 or finer.
Cold Drawing
Progressive die reduction achieves final diameter. Intermediate stress-relief annealing prevents work hardening. Our proprietary lubrication system maintains surface finish.
Final Heat Treatment
Bright annealing in protective atmosphere restores ductility. Rapid cooling preserves alpha-phase microstructure for maximum elongation.
Quality Inspection
Dimensional Verification
Laser micrometers check diameter at 10mm intervals. Statistical process control ensures ±0.01mm consistency.
Ultrasonic Testing
100% inspection per AMS 2631 Class B detects inclusions >0.4mm. Automated systems reject non-conforming material before spooling.
Mechanical Testing
Tensile tests verify yield strength 138–310 MPa and elongation >24%. Bend tests confirm 1T radius capability without surface cracks.
Traceability
Each spool includes EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate with heat number. LECO ONH analyzer data for oxygen/nitrogen/hydrogen provided upon request.
Applications
Medical Devices
Surgical wire, orthodontic springs, and catheter guide wires benefit from biocompatibility and non-magnetic properties.

FAQ
Q: Can you supply diameters smaller than 0.15mm?
A: Yes, we produce wire down to 0.08mm (AWG 40) for specialized applications. Minimum order quantity increases for ultra-fine sizes.
Q: What's the difference between bright annealed and pickled finish?
A: Bright annealed offers smoother surface (Ra 0.4μm) for medical use. Pickled finish removes oxide scale, suitable for welding applications.
Q: Do you provide sample spools?
A: Free 1-meter samples available for testing. Shipping costs covered by recipient for international deliveries.
Q: Can wire be supplied in straightened lengths?
A: Straightened and cut lengths available in 500mm–3000mm segments. Additional processing fee applies for orders under 100 pieces.
Q: How does GR1 compare to GR2 for corrosion resistance?
A: Both grades offer similar corrosion performance. GR1 provides slightly better formability due to lower oxygen content, ideal for cold working.
