Zirconium iron is an iron alloy composed of zirconium and iron and silicon, aluminum and other elements. The zirconium iron for steel making is zirconium ferrosilicon, containing Zr15%~45% and Si30%~65%. Produced by aluminum thermal method is called zirconium iron because it contains aluminum, containing Zr15%. Zirconium and iron to generate stable compounds FeZr2 (45.1% zr), melting point of 1650 ℃, Fe-Zr system has two eutectic. In 16% Zr when the eutectic melting point of 1330 ℃; in 84% Zr when the eutectic melting point of about 940 ℃. Ferrozirconium is used as a deoxidizer and alloy additive in high-temperature alloys, low-alloy high-strength steels, ultra-high-strength steels, and cast irons for special applications, and is then used in atomic technology, aeronautics manufacturing, and radio technology.

Industry Applications

1. It is used as a deoxidizer and alloying additive in special-purpose high-temperature alloys, low-alloyed high-strength steels, ultra-high-strength steels, and cast irons, and is then used in atomic technology, aerospace manufacturing, and radio technology. The coarse particles of zirconium-iron alloy powder are mainly used as the main additive material in the neodymium-iron-boron industry, or in the hydrogen storage and permanent magnet material industry, so that it can be better alloyed with magnetic materials or hydrogen storage alloys.
