Gr5 Titanium 90° Elbow
Industrial-grade Gr5 Titanium 90° Elbow fittings designed for high-performance piping systems operating under severe mechanical stress and corrosive conditions are supplied by LINHUI Titanium. Manufactured to ASTM B363 and ASME B16.9 standards, our elbows feature wall thickness ranging from 2.5mm to 35mm and tube thickness from 2.5mm to 35mm, accommodating diameters from DN15 to DN3000mm with complete millimeter specifications.
For aerospace hydraulic systems, offshore platforms, and chemical processing facilities that need both lightweight construction and superior mechanical integrity, the Ti-6Al-4V alloy composition is the preferred option due to its remarkable corrosion resistance and tensile strength exceeding 895 MPa.
Key Features & Benefits
Better Ratio of Strength to Weight
Compared to stainless steel, you can reduce weight by 40% without sacrificing tensile strength. This reduces installation costs and structural load requirements.
Longer Service Life
Chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking is prevented by the self-passivating titanium oxide layer. In marine settings, your system has been operating without maintenance for more than 20 years.
Stability at High Temperatures
Maintains mechanical properties up to 400°C, suitable for thermal cycling applications in exhaust systems and heat exchangers.

Manufacturing Process
Material Preparation
We start with vacuum-melted Ti-6Al-4V billets verified through PMI testing. Each heat batch undergoes spectral analysis to confirm 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium content.
Hot Forming
Billets are heated to 950°C in a controlled atmosphere furnace. Hydraulic press forming ensures uniform grain structure without cold work embrittlement.
Machining & Finishing
CNC machining achieves dimensional tolerances per ASME B16.9. Surfaces receive either pickling, sandblasting, or electropolishing based on your application requirements.
Quality Inspection
Identification of Positive Material (PMI)
By confirming the accurate 6% Al and 4% V composition, handheld XRF testing helps avoid material mix-ups with softer grades.
Testing with ultrasound (UT)
Laminar flaws or cavities in elbow walls must be found; this is especially important for seamless hot-formed fittings.
Inspection using Dye Penetrant (DPI)
Microcracks or discontinuities that might arise during the bending process are found by 100% surface checks.
Dimensional Confirmation
Correct center-to-end dimensions and squareness are ensured by laser and caliper inspection against ASME B16.9 tolerances.
Applications
Aerospace Industry
Hydraulic systems in landing gear assemblies and APU fuel lines where weight reduction directly impacts fuel efficiency.
Offshore Engineering
Subsea manifolds and production risers exposed to high-pressure seawater and hydrogen sulfide environments.
Chemical Processing
Piping systems handling concentrated acids, chlor-alkali solutions, and wet chlorine gas streams.
Power Generation
Condenser cooling circuits in nuclear and geothermal plants requiring zero corrosion allowance calculations.
Export Markets
Over 60 countries, including important markets in North America (USA, Canada), Europe (Germany, France, UK), the Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia), and Asia-Pacific (Japan, South Korea, Singapore), have received Elbow assemblies from us.
With complete EN 10204 3.2 certification, our products support projects for CEFC, PTT, PETRONAS, and LUKOIL.
Why Choose Us
Direct Supply from the Factory
You get mill-certified materials at competitive prices with full heat number traceability when there are no middlemen.
More than 200 tons of ready stock
Common sizes are readily available, allowing for 3–7 day delivery for urgent jobs and preventing expensive manufacturing delays.
Technical Assistance
To ensure best performance, our in-house metallurgists help with material selection, stress analysis, and special fabrication requirements.
Packaging & Shipping
Every Elbow is packaged in plywood containers with desiccant packs and wrapped separately in anti-corrosion paper. During transit, protective end caps guard against surface damage.
Upon request, we offer complete documentation, such as Material Test Certificates (MTC), NACE compliance reports, and third-party inspection certificates from SGS, BV, or DNV.
FAQ
Q: What is the required minimum order quantity?
A: We accept trial orders with a flexible minimum order quantity (MOQ) for custom requirements, starting at 100 kg for stock sizes.
Q: Can you offer content that complies with FDA regulations?
A: We do provide Grade 5 ELI (Extra Low Interstitial) titanium that satisfies FDA biocompatibility requirements for use in medical applications.
Q: How can the quality of the weld in welded elbows be guaranteed?
A: To ensure base metal corrosion resistance throughout the weld zone, all welded fittings go through 100% radiographic testing (RT) and do not employ any filler metal.
Q: What are the possible surface finishes?
A: Depending on the needs of your system, we provide pickled, electropolished (Ra ≤0.4μm), and sandblasted finishes.
