ASME B16.5 Threaded Flange
Precision-engineered ASME B16.5 Threaded Flange solutions made in accordance with ASME B16.5 and API 5A specifications are provided by LINHUI Titanium. Our flanges satisfy the most stringent piping system requirements with a diameter range of 1/2 to 24 inches (DN15-DN600) and pressure ratings ranging from Class 150 to 2500.
We reach an annual output of 800 tons with the support of two manufacturing facilities running 30 titanium production lines and 21 years of established experience. Complete test results, ISO certification, and CE are included with every product. We ship internationally by air, sea, DHL, and FedEx.

Key Features & Benefits
Our threaded flanges are perfect for field maintenance and modifications since they are simple to install without the need for welding. In high-chloride conditions, where conventional materials fail, the precisely cut threads guarantee leak-tight connections.
In harsh media like hot brine, seawater, and wet chlorine, you have a longer service life. In spite of temperature variations, the high strength-to-weight ratio preserves pressure integrity while lowering structural load.

Manufacturing Process
To reduce contaminants, we begin with vacuum-melted titanium sponge. To avoid oxygen contamination and alpha case development, the forging process takes place in a protected atmosphere.
Thread profiles produced by precise CNC machining adhere to ASME B16.1 specifications. To maximize grain structure and mechanical qualities, each ASME B16.5 Threaded Flange is subjected to a regulated heat treatment.
Pickling is used to remove scale from surfaces, and passivation is used to improve the production of natural oxide layers.
Quality Inspection
Chemical Analysis & PMI: Handheld XRF verification identifies hydrogen levels that prevent embrittlement and verifies that the iron content remains below 0.30%.
Mechanical Testing: According to ASTM B381, tensile, yield strength, and elongation tests verify the pressure containment capabilities listed in EN 10204 3.1 certifications.
NDT Protocols: Dye Penetrant Inspection looks for surface flaws in thread roots and sealing faces. Internal cavities in forged bodies can be found by ultrasonic testing.
Dimensional Verification: The bolt circle diameter, flange face roughness (Ra 3.2-6.3µm), and thread pitch all satisfy ASME B16.5 table specifications.
Applications Of ASME B16.5 Threaded Flange
Offshore Platforms: MIC resistance in oxygenated saltwater and minimal crevice corrosion are advantages for firewater systems and seawater cooling loops.
Chlor-Alkali Plants: Titanium's resistance to stress cracking caused by chlorine is essential for hypochlorite piping and wet chlorine gas lines.
Desalination Facilities: Intake piping flanges minimize the need for cathodic protection while removing concerns about galvanic corrosion.
Marine Engineering: For simpler ROV installation in deep-water applications, subsea riser connectors take advantage of the high strength-to-weight ratio.

FAQ
Q: Can I use titanium flanges with stainless steel flanges?
A: Dimensionally compatible but requires isolation kits (sleeves/washers) to prevent galvanic corrosion in wet environments.
Q: Do you need post-weld heat treatment?
A: Generally not required for Grade F2 or F12, though stress relief may benefit complex piping configurations.
Q: What gasket material works best?
A: PTFE or spiral wound gaskets with titanium windings. Avoid graphite in strong oxidizer applications.
Q: How do pressure ratings compare to steel?
A: Consult ASME B16.5 Table 2-3 for temperature derating. Titanium strength decreases faster above 300°C.
Q: Why the price difference from steel?
A: Energy-intensive Kroll process and vacuum forging requirements create higher base costs.
