Commercially Pure Titanium Grade 12
Send InquiryDescription
Titanium Grade 12 (UNS R53401) is a type of Commercially Pure with 0.8% Ni and 0.3%Mo light alloyed Titanium (Ti-0.8Ni-0.3Mo). The additives of 0.3% Mo and 0.8% Ni to titanium increase corrosion resistance at a lower cost than Pd (see Ti Grades 7 and 11). Moreover, the sample was annealed for 20 min. at 815°C and 5 min. at 788°C. Grade 12 is with higher strength than unalloyed Ti grade 1 to grade 4, yet still formable. Besides, Ti-Gr.12 has an equiaxed alpha microstructure, with acicular alpha, primarily in welds or heat-affected zones, with small amounts of beta.
The specified Features of Titanium Grade 12 are as follows: Highly weldable, near-alpha alloy, exhibiting improved strength and temperature capability over CP combined with superior crevice corrosion resistance and excellent resistance under oxidizing to mildly reducing conditions, especially chlorides.
